2018 China-Italy & China-Poland Joint Projects Symposium organized by Jin’s Group

From Oct 24-Oct 26 2018, the 1th China-Italy & China-Poland Joint Projects Symposium was successfully held in the new building of the State Key Laboratory of Materials-Oriented Chemical Engineering. Prof. Wanqin Jin, Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory, Prof. Enrico Drioli, Honorary President of the European Membrane Society, Prof. Annarosa Gugliuzza, executor of the Italian project ( Institute on Membrane Technology in National Research Council (ITM-CNR) , Italy), and Prof. Wojciech Kujawski, executor of the Polish project (Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland), coordinated the Symposium. There are several reports about the research developments related to the joint projects, a lab tour and a membrane industry park tour during the three days’ workshop.
Prof. Jin gave the opening remark during the opening ceremony to express warm welcome and sincere greetings to the foreign scholars and also delivered an overview speech to introduce the basic situation of our univeristy, and summarize our researches after the startup of the project. Prof. Enrico Drioli also gave the opening remark during the opening ceremony to express appreciate and mainly introduced the theme of the jointed workshop. Annarosa Gugliuzza and Prof. Wojciech Kujawski thanked the well-arranged project seminar and hoped that in the future, the tripartite cooperation will be closer and more students will benefit from this project. The participants conducted in-depth discussions on issues such as project progress, future trends in the field, and cooperation methods. Many students expressed great interest and enthusiasm for participating in the project exchange and further consultation with the Italian and Polish professors on specific issues.
Most students of Nanjing Tech University and all the group members attended the symposium. Associate Prof. Gongping Liu and Dr. Jing Zhao both gave project progress reports. Prof. Henny J.M. Bouwmeester gave an invited talk on their groups’ work in their fields.
Finally, Prof. Jin emphasized that promoting international exchange of students is an important step for talent cultivation and we can give play to our respective advantages and maintain close cooperation with each other.
